The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. Our Y was founded September 27,1852; making the Detroit Y the oldest non-church community service organization in Detroit.

Everyone belongs at the Y
At the Y we believe that we have something special–a sense of community–and that everyone should have access to it. We offer income-based membership for families with a combined annual household income of less than $49,000*.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a physical activity based program for girls in 3rd-8th grade that teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games.
Early Learning Child Care
Early Education Child Care at the Y brings together a unique combination of resources to ensure that children gain the skills and knowledge to successfully begin kindergarten.
