The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit believes in providing program and membership services to all who desire to participate. The scholarship program, supported in large part by the Annual Campaign, uses all available resources to provide support to those who have financial need and qualify for assistance.
Applying is Easy and Confidential
- Download and complete the scholarship application form.
- Submit two of the following documents with the application.*
- the most recent federal income tax form
- and one of the following:
- letter from employer verifying current employment
- a recent paycheck stub
- state verification of assistance
- Schedule an appointment with the branch scholarship representative.
*Include copies (etc.) for all individuals contributing to the household income.
How it Works
Once you’ve submitted your application and supporting documentation, it is reviewed by your YMCA branch’s executive director and his/her designee. This process can take up to two weeks.
Upon approval of a scholarship, a Y representative will review the conditions of the scholarship with you.
Y For All Membership
Households of two or more with a combined total income of $49,000 or less annually may qualify for our Y for All income-based membership rate of $40 a month per family. Income must be verified to qualify. Contact any of our YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit facilities to apply and join the Y today.
