More than a great fitness center
Our Ys have exercise machines, stretching areas, free weights, and a weight room. But more importantly, they’re a safe, caring place where people of all ages and abilities can strengthen spirit, mind and body.
Access to our 7 locations across Metro Detroit and YMCAs across the country
When you join the YMCA, you’ll discover new ways to connect with your potential, purpose and community. No matter where you are on your journey, the Y is where you can belong and thrive. Join us and you’ll also have access to participating YMCAs across the country.
Lap & Family Swim
The pools at our Ys are staffed with lifeguards and swim instructors to provide a safe environment for members to enjoy exercise swimming as well as recreational swimming. Our locations post pool schedules on their websites to help you plan your activities.
Savings on swim lessons, youth sports, day camp, and more
Y Members always have priority registration and pay a discounted rate for any paid programs that are open to non-members.
Free Group & Water Exercise Classes
Group classes are a great way to get in shape and make new friends, and many are included in your membership. Our YMCAs offer Zumba, Yoga, Strength Training, HIIT, Les Mills classes, and more! Attend as many classes each week as you like and design a fitness schedule that works for you.
Free child care while you workout at the Y
Our Ys offer playful, engaging care while you exercise or connect with others over shared interests. Please be aware that parents must remain in the Y at all times while using Child Watch and Kids club, and hours will vary by location.
Wellness Consultation with a nationally certified Personal Trainer
Every Y member, no matter their experience or fitness level, can take advantage of a 45-minute session to discuss wellness goals, develop a workout plan, or take an equipment orientation.
Activities and access for the entire family
At the Y, there are activities for everyone in your family, along with free family events throughout the year. Our pools, gyms, and indoor tracks also include open time during the week when families can play together.
The YMCA Detroit app makes it easy to manage your family’s schedule
Wherever you are, our app makes it easy to sign up for Y classes and manage family’s schedule. Take the Y with you and participate in fun wellness challenges and keep up-to-date with notifications from your YMCA. The YMCA Detroit app is available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Financial Assistance
The Y is dedicated to providing affordable programs and services to benefit people of all incomes and backgrounds in Metropolitan Detroit. Insurance-based memberships for active older adults
The YMCA participates several insurance-based programs for adults ages 65 & up. Check with your insurance provider to determine if you are eligible.
Corporate Membership
