The YMCA Basketball Instructional program is an introduction to Basketball. Children learn socialization with kids their own age, while gaining basic skills of the sport. This clinic is for the beginner level athlete or a player looking to fine tune the basic skills of Basketball.

The Downriver Family YMCA and the City of Southgate Parks & Rec are partnering together for our 2024 Youth Basketball League! This league is a great way to learn new skills, be a part of a team, and have fun. Players learn techniques for dribbling, shooting, and passing. They also work on learning rules of the game and spend time working together as a team.
Each team will practice once a week and games will be played on Saturdays. All games and practices for this Age Division will take place at the Downriver Family YMCA. Participants will be contacted by their coach with practice day and time by mid to late December.
