Welcoming week is a weeklong national celebration that elevates the contributions of immigrants and US born citizens to our countries social fabric. This time allows neighbors to connect, build mutual understanding, and celebrate cultural diversity. Celebrating Welcoming Week is important for the wellbeing of our communities that everyone has an opportunity to engage, build mutual understanding, and work together to create a better society.
We’re keeping the party going after the Y Big Block Party on September 10 with a week full of activities:
September 12 – Futbol FUNdamentals at South Oakland Family YMCA
Youth ages 5+ will learn the basics of the world sport, soccer. This clinic will be held at the South Oakland YMCA. Registration required.
September 15 – Taste of the World at All Locations
Stop into your local Y for a global snack or share your own cultural food with other members.
Try various group fitness classes: Cycling Around the World, Global Barre, Zumba Fiesta, Silver Sneakers Latin Party, and more!
