This back-to-school season JCPenney and the YMCA of the USA are partnering to help kids reach their potential by supporting afterschool and summer learning programs as part of the Y’s overall efforts to address the academic achievement gap in communities across the country. The Y’s Academic Achievement Initiative aims to support the cognitive, social-emotional and physical development of students who are academically at-risk through its evidence-based, high-quality summer learning loss prevention and afterschool programs.

From July 15 through September 2, JCPenney will donate $1 for every purchase of Arizona jeans (up to $250,000) to support the Y’s
Academic Achievement Initiative. Additionally, JCPenney Cares is committing an additional $250,000 to further support the Y’s efforts. JCPenney believes as we do that supporting kids and families helps build strong, vibrant communities, and have partnered with the Y for over 20 years to support our cause.

JCPenney has also extended a special offering to Y members of 20% off JCPenney purchases from July 25 until September 5.
