Plymouth Family YMCA Programs
Day Camp
Day Camp—like many Y programs—
is about learning skills, developing
character and making friends. But few
environments are as special as camp; kids
see themselves accomplish, learn and
master skills—while making new friends
and feeling like they belong.
Afterschool Care
Y Afterschool Care serves kindergartners through middle schoolers with activities to explore and develop their interests and talents when school ends.
Youth Sports
Y youth sports programs encourage youth development and promote healthy living by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition rather than rivalry, the value of participation over winning, team building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and a sense of fair play and mutual respect for others. YMCA coaches and athletes keep winning in perspective. Striving to win is natural, but it is not the primary objective of YMCA youth sports.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
The Plymouth Family YMCA is a programming branch offering Summer Day Camp, Youth Sports, Girls on the Run, and Afterschool Care. If Plymouth Canton Community Schools close due to weather conditions, all morning classes and programs will be canceled. The status of afternoon and evening classes and programs will be re-evaluated at noon on that day. We update our schedules as often as possible to keep them timely, but we’re unable to present up-to-the-minute accuracy.
