Hundreds of members safely visited our YMCA over 6,700 times in March and over 1,300 of those members were active older adults, participating in our SilverSneakers, Silver&Fit, and Pure Fit insurance provider programs.
In March, we:
- Welcomed 1,000 new members!
- Provided over 200 in-person group exercise and 44 virtual classes and activities for all ages.
- We also opened Child Watch at all 7 locations
Member engagement is flourishing.

We celebrated adding 281 donors to our philanthropic family in February and over 100 were first time donors!
We awarded $10,200 in scholarships to help families afford childcare and or other YMCA membership services.

- Consider sending a child to camp for $250.
Serve
shares the impact of our work and the strength of our staff & volunteers
We distributed over 6,200 meals at 6 locations in the tri-county area.
In March, we served over 2,200 children through Y programs that support academic achievement, mental health, nutrition and physical fitness.
Our team is growing; We welcomed 15 new hires in March.
We have 378 part time and 113 full time YMCA team members supported by 300 volunteers, all committed to Make Every Day Better for over 40,000 Metropolitan Detroiters.
