Making Everyday Better Though Volunteering
As the holidays quickly approach we reflect on gratitude and all that we have in our lives to be grateful for! At the Y we are grateful for all our volunteers and the magnificent work that you do! What are you grateful for?
Volunteer Spotlight
We had a spooktacular Halloween at the Y! Across 7 YMCA locations in October over 50 volunteers and staff helped to bring this family friendly event to life! Complete with trunk or treat, face painting, and spooky crafts this event was a safe and fun place for families to come and celebrate Halloween! We couldn’t have done it without our volunteers! THANK YOU!
Upcoming Fun!
A YMCA signature event! The Thanksgiving Fresh Baskets Program at the YMCA provides hundrendred of holiday meals for individuals and families across metro Detroit. Baskets are filled with fresh produce, pantry items, and other ingredients such as eggs and butter to prepare a variety of Thanksgiving dishes.
Many volunteers are needed to support this large event.

Reminder: A new volunteer process at the Y!
In June of 2021, the YMCA of metro Detroit launched a rejuvenated volunteer program. For the first time, volunteers register through our website. Volunteers also now have an account with a log-in and can see volunteer opportunities available at any time!
